National Program for Improving Endocrinological Assistance to the Population was approved in the Republic of Uzbekistan

On 19 April, the National Program for Improving Endocrinological Assistance to the Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019–2021 was approved by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The program is aimed to providing full-fledged specialized endocrinological care to patients, assessing the epidemiological situation of diabetes mellitus and iodine deficiency states, their early diagnosis and the development of preventive measures.

This document is based on the 2016–2020 CIS Cooperation Program for Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes adopted on 7 June 2016 at a meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of State in Bishkek. The draft program was developed by the IPA CIS Boars of Experts on Public Health. According to its experts, the implementation of this program could be an important step in countering the incidence of diabetes.
