Permanent representatives of the CIS member nations summarized results of their work in 2016

The Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth held its last meeting in 2016 in the CIS Executive Committee.

According to the press-service of the CIS Execom, Alexandr Surikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus, in compliance with the Executive Order of the President of the Russian Federation, passed the Order of Friendship to Viktor Guminsky, First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, for his contribution to the development of the Union State, promoting economic cooperation between Russia and Belarus, and enhancing Eurasian integration in his capacity of First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

The permanent representatives of the CIS member nations summarized the results of their work in 2016, considered the draft working plan for the next year and agreed to refine and adopt it at the meeting of the Council in January.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus, addressed the Council with the information on the outcomes of his country’s chairmanship in the CIS.

According to Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as a presiding nation, the Kyrgyz Republic had prioritized strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, in the field of defense and security, emergency response, environment, science, innovation, and culture.

The first meeting of the Council in the coming year will take place on 12 January 2017.
