Prospects of interparliamentary cooperation were discussed in the Republic of Uzbekistan

Meeting of the Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Deputy Head – Coordinator of the Delegation of the Russian Federation to the IPA CIS Ilyas Umakhanov with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoev took place in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan

One of the key issues on the agenda of the meeting was the participation of Uzbekistan MPs in the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will be held on 14-18 October 2017 in St. Petersburg.

Sodik Safoev confirmed that the national delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan was ready to resume work in the Inter-Parliamentary Union and intended to participate in the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The representatives of Uzbekistan also noted the relevance of the initiative of the Russian Federation to establish the International Day of Parliamentarism, supported by the IPA CIS Council.
