Publication of the collection of information and analytical materials on the CIS development and activities in 2016

The CIS Executive Committee released a collection of information and analytical materials “The CIS Development and Activities in 2016”, vol. 5, which is available online in the CIS Executive Committee website.

The collection specifically underlines the role of the IPA CIS in the field of countering terrorism: “The leading role in tackling the issues of harmonization of legislation belongs to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly which systematically enhances its efforts to align national legislation in the field of countering terrorism, exploring new forms and methods that facilitate the use of research potential and practical experience in the most efficient way, and involvement of a broader spectrum of experts and scholars in addressing the issue of terrorism”.

The collection also acknowledges the role of the IPA CIS in the field of health care: “Implementation of the 2016–2020 CIS Cooperation Program for Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes will be discussed annually at the meetings of the CIS Cooperation Council on Public Health, and the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Public Health subsequently reporting to the Council of the CIS Heads of Government”.

Besides the collection notes the increasing importance of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IIMDD IPA CIS) which celebrated its 10^th anniversary in 2016.
