Russian MFA reviews the CIS activities in 2013

According to Kazinform press agency quoting the review exercise by the Russian MFA, in 2013, CIS Member Nations concluded 20 multilateral instruments and 50 resolutions across the spectrum of international economic cooperation. This includes legal frameworks of the EEU due to become effective as of 1 January 2015, the tri-partite customs union and common economic space of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. This also includes a roadmap for gradual elimination of roadblocks along this integration superhighway. Applications of Armenia and Kirgizstan to join the CU were also under consideration. Similar arrangements were being negotiated with the EFTA and New Zealand.
Russia and Belarus continued consolidation of legal frameworks of their Union State, including a range of new instruments in the use of Russian-owned GLONASS satellite navigation system, security, national defense, bilateral investment projects and joint military exercises. The top executive body of the Union State approved a Foreign Policy Guidelines for 2014-15, anti-corruption pact, information security agreement and a program of military cooperation till 2020.
The MFA also positively reviewed the state of cooperation with Kazakhstan, focusing on its broad ambit and confidentiality. The two nations have signed a basic framework agreement on friendship and alliance.
