The 76th meeting of the CIS Economic Council

The 76th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place in Moscow on 15 December 2017.

The participants of the meeting examined intergovernmental innovative projects and policies as part of 2020 CIS Intergovernmental Program of Innovative Cooperation.

The members of the CIS Economic Council approved the Drafts of the CIS Cooperation Agreement on Managing Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment, as well as Protocol on Amending the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Affairs of 15 April 1994.

The parties also discussed adoption of agreed railway tariffs and several budget, financial and organizational issues.

Participants of the meeting exchanged views on the implementation of the intergovernmental trust program on Reclamation of the Territories of the States Exposed to Uranium Mining Operations.

The 77th meeting of the CIS Economic Council will be held on 2 March 2018 in Moscow.

The CIS Economic Council is the principal executive body which ensures implementation of decisions of the Council of the Heads of State and the Council of the Heads of Government of the CIS countries on the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement and other matters of socio-economic cooperation.
