The Tavricheskiy Palace is hosting International Scientific Conference Religious Situation in the North-West Region: Social and Cultural Identity

The conference is attended by leading experts in religious and political studies, ethnology, and sociology from Russia, Greece, Finland and other countries.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss religious situation in the North-West region, bringing to light potential problems, and develop tools to improve ethnic and religious situation, counter ethnic and sectarian extremism.

At its sessions the conference will focus on:

Religious situation in the North-West region; regional and national identity; ethnicity: cultural and religious dimension; religion in today’s media scene; religious factor in modern geopolitics; traditionalism, modernism and fundamentalism in the religion and culture of the North-West region.
