VI CIS Youth Cinema Forum to take place in Bishkek

The VI Youth Cinema Forum “Umut” is dedicated to the 90^th anniversary of writer Chingiz Aitmatov. According to the organizer of the event, the Department of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, the participants of the Forum include filmmakers from the CIS countries, Georgia and the Baltic States.

The following competition viewings will take place in the course of the Forum: an international competition of fiction movies (16 films), an international competition of documentaries (14 films), and the combined program of documentaries (8 films).

The Forum also features a workshop by Russian film expert Yevgeny Maisel, a workshop by Azerbaijani director, winner of the Youth Oscar Elmar Imanov, a presentation “To the 100^th anniversary of the Gerasimov Russian State Institute of Cinematography”, and a presentation, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the first Kazakh movie scholar Bauyrjan Nogerbek.
