Visiting session of the Council of the CIS Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representatives takes place in Brest

The participants of the meeting heard a report on the implementation of activities within the CIS Year of a Book, and, following the discussion, proposed the CIS Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in Printed Media, Book Publishing, Trade and Printing Industry to continue active work in this area in cooperation with the CIS Executive Committee.

Furthermore, the permanent and plenipotentiary representatives assessed the preparation of the regular meeting of the CIS Council Heads of Government to take place on 31 May in Ashgabat. It was noted that all the relevant matters were promptly addressed with the involved ministries and institutions of Turkmenistan. For the moment, the program of the event and its rules of procedure have been elaborated, the venue of the meeting in private and inclusive formats has been defined, and the draft agenda elaborated and negotiated with the presiding Turkmen party. It is expected that the heads of government will exchange views on relevant issues of economic cooperation, as well as discuss and adopt a number of documents related to expansion of the CIS cooperation in the field of innovation, customs, fundamental research, museum, etc.
