Winners of the CIS international competition Art of a Book will be awarded in Moscow

The traditional award ceremony of the CIS international competition “Art of a Book” will take place in Moscow on 6–11 September 2017 in the framework of Moscow International Book Fair.

This competition has been held from 2004 and organized by the CIS Advisory Board on Printed Media, Publishing and Readership. The Board's aim is to encourage the brightest and most talented initiatives in the field of book publishing, improving the culture of book publishing and development of book art across the CIS countries, and support the common cultural space of the CIS..

According to the press-service of the CIS Executive Committee, the 2017 competition involved 87 editions from six CIS countries (Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Kyrghyz Republic, Russian Federation and Turkmenistan).

The international jury selected winners in nine nominations: “Commonwealth”, “My country”, “Book for children and youth”, “Dialogue of cultures”, “Science and Innovations”, “Educational literature and education”, “Art book”, “Printed in the Commonwealth”, “Illustrative Art”. Based on the results of a secret voting, the jury determined the winners of the main prize (Grand Prix): the books “World heritage of Francisk Skorina” (Republic of Belarus), “Poetry: An Anthology” (Russian Federation) and “Vehement tread pace of a steed: An album” (Turkmenistan).
