Integration Cooperation Became Topic of XII Forum “Eurasian Economic Perspective”

The plenary session of the XII International Forum “Eurasian Economic Perspective” was held in the Tavricheskiy Palace. This year’s theme was “Integration cooperation in Greater Eurasia as the basis of a new multipolar world”. The participants discussed strategic issues of the modern development of the Eurasian space in the context of a multiplicity of external challenges and the development of new projects and partnerships in the macro-region of Greater Eurasia.
Traditionally, the forum is attended by members of the Board and heads of departments of the Eurasian Economic Commission, heads and representatives of the Eurasian Development Bank, CIS Executive Committee, the Union State of Russia and Belarus, ministries of Russian Federation, rectors and academics of universities of the Eurasian space, economists, politicians, public figures, representatives of the business community.
Rector of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) Igor Maksimtsev opened the plenary session. He said that the XII forum summarized the results of 2024, which was marked by a number of significant events and anniversaries: the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union; the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. Also, 2024 is the year of Russian presidency in the BRICS association.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy sent greetings to the participants. In his opinion, in the context of dynamically changing foreign economic and foreign policy factors, integration associations and international organizations play a special role in the adaptation of states.
“The Assembly is always open to discussing the prospects for sustainable development and strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Eurasian space, since international cooperation in the field of integration is the key to the successful implementation of Eurasian projects,” - the Secretary General stressed.
The forum is organized by UNECON with the support of the IPA CIS, the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, the Eurasian Association of Universities and the Roscongress Foundation.
