22 April 2025
The Grand Session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, ended with a festive concert “Music of the Great Victory”. The audience of the performance was the parliamentarians of the Commonwealth countries, led by the heads of delegations, as well as representatives of partner international organizations and other guests of honor.
St. Petersburg artists sang songs dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. Songs known in all CIS countries were performed: “Katyusha”, “Blue Handkerchief”, “10th Battalion”, “Dark Night” and others.
During the performance of the famous “Cranes”, “memory in stone” was shown on the big screen - monuments erected in the countries of the Commonwealth in memory of those who did not return from the war, who brought Victory at the front at the cost of their lives and worked hard in the rear, about those whose childhood and carefree youth were crossed out by the war, about those who waited and did not wait for their loved ones to come home. There were tears in the eyes of the audience.
At the end of the concert, both participants and the audience performed the song “Victory Day”, and a choreographic group marched with portraits of war heroes from the Union republics.
