Use of AI in Fashion Industry to be Discussed at Forum “Commonwealth of Fashion”

On 19-20 November 2024, the IPA CIS headquarters will host the international forum “Commonwealth of Fashion”. As part of the Forum, experts will discuss how the labour market in the fashion industry is changing with the emergence of artificial intelligence. The roundtable on this topic is included in the track “Education, Personnel and Career Guidance” and will be coorganised by the S-GROUP Corporate Communication Center.

The introduction of AI in the fashion industry opens up new horizons for optimising business processes, creating innovative clothing collections, personalising communication with customers and improving logistics.

The use of AI in the development of new collections and marketing campaigns is helping to create better-selling garments and more effective marketing strategies. Chatbots with AI provide a high level of customer service by offering personalised recommendations and improving the product search process.

Virtual fitting rooms powered by AI and augmented reality allow customers to try on clothes without having to physically purchase them, reducing the number of returns to online retailers.

All of this will lead to significant changes in the labour market and require new skills and competencies. Employees must be ready to adapt to new technologies and processes, as well as to continuous learning and development.

Among the speakers of the roundtable are Daria Fokina, the founder of the Artificial Intelligence Studio; Alisa Yakovleva, a graphic AI designer; Denis Parshin, the executive director of Sber’s Laboratory of Neuroscience and Human Behaviour; Leonid Alekseev, the curator of the Master’s track “Creating a Fashion Brand” at HSE University Art and Design School; Irina Missal, a fashion researcher; Anna Voskresenskaya, a digital content author; Amir Sarakov, the SuperJob’s Vice President for Young Professionals; and Nikita Khudov, the executive director of Sber AI.

The Forum programme also includes roundtables and panel discussions on economics and investment, production, creative industries, culture, fashion tourism, beauty and health. Traditionally, there will be two fashion shows – designers from Russian regions and designers from CIS countries will present their works.

The Forum “Commonwealth of Fashion” brings together on one platform representatives of light industry and creative industry, relevant ministries and departments, professional associations, legislators and experts.

The Forum is being organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Russian Export Center and SOYUZLEGPROM.
