Parliamentary conference
The Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism are co-organizing an online international parliamentary conference “Global Threats and Challenges in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic - Terrorism and Violent Extremism” on 15 April 2021.
The Conference features the following sessions:
- Legal Mechanisms of International Cooperation in Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism;
- Assessment of Terrorist Threat and Efforts to Prevent Violent Extremism;
- Promoting and respecting the rights and supporting the needs of victims of terrorism;
- Democracies facing COVID-19 Pandemic.
Organization of Work:
Participation in the Conference is open for the MPs of the IPA CIS Member Nations, representatives of international organizations, academics and experts, as well as the representatives of non-governmental and relevant organizations.
The Conference will take place within one day in the format of plenary and thematic sessions moderated by the co-organizers. The event will be held online via video conferencing.
Working languages are Russian, English and French.
The registration is carried out online through the IPA CIS website.
