CEC of Republic of Uzbekistan has Announced Dates of Early Voting for Snap Presidential Elections

On 20 June, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. The CEC members considered the organization of early voting, accreditation of observers from international organizations and ensuring public security during the snap presidential elections.

The snap presidential elections are scheduled for 9 July. On that day, polling stations in the capital and regions of Uzbekistan will be visited by a group of the IPA CIS International Observers, which will include MPs and representatives of the CIS parliaments, staff members of the IPA CIS and experts from the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD).

In accordance with the constitutional amendments adopted by the referendum on 30 April 2023, the President of Uzbekistan is elected for seven years.
