CIS Observer Mission Summed Up Results of Monitoring Kyrgyz Elections

On 29 November 2021, the press conference of the CIS Observer Mission at the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic took place. It was attended by Head of the CIS Observer Mission Vasiliy Volkov, IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Chair of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Defense and Security Kutbidin Burkhanov, Head of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev and other members of the Observer Mission.

Sergei Lebedev noted that all the necessary conditions were created for a full expression of voters’ will. The participants also noted the high technical equipment of the voting. Nonetheless, Sergei Lebedev hoped that Kyrgyzstan would carefully analyze the situation with technical failure in the work of the Central Election Commission website, which occurred on 28 November and would minimize such cases in the future. He also did not exclude that the failure might be associated with a hacker attack.
