IPA CIS Continues Preparations for Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan

By the order of Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhakyp Asanov has been appointed coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Mission at the snap elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan nominated him as a candidate.

On 27 June, IPA CIS international observers discussed the preparations for the span presidential elections with Head of the CEC of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zainiddin Nizamkhodzhayev and representatives of the campaign office of the Liberal-democratic party of Uzbekistan. The meetings were held online as part of the long-term monitoring.

Deputy Director of the IPA CIS IIMDD Elena Eremenko, experts of the IPA CIS IIMDD Stanislav Tkachenko, Alexander Potyakin, Ivan Samokhvalov, staff members of the IPA CIS IIMDD participated in the meetings.
