IPA CIS Observers Started Monitoring Early Voting in Presidential Elections of Uzbekistan

On 29 June 2023, members of the IPA CIS group of international observers headed by Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IPA CIS IIMDD Director Ivan Musket visited the polling station at the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg.

Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg Alisher Babayev told the observers that field voting is organized for citizens of Uzbekistan in North-Western Russia (Kaliningrad, Murmansk, etc.), and early voting is available at Pulkovo Airport for citizens arriving in St. Petersburg from Uzbekistan.

The IPA CIS observers take part in the monitoring of the snap presidential elections at the invitation of Head of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zainiddin Nizamkhodzhayev.

Early voting at polling stations in the Republic of Uzbekistan is held from 28 June to 5 July 2023 from 9:00 to 18:00 on weekdays, from 11:00 to 17:00 on weekends and holidays.

The snap presidential elections in Uzbekistan are scheduled for 9 July 2023. On this day, a group of the IPA CIS international observers, consisting of MPs, representatives of the Commonwealth, staff members of the IPA CIS and experts of the IPA CIS IIMDD will visit polling stations in the capital and regions of Uzbekistan, as well as foreign polling stations.
