IPA CIS International Observers Group Comes to Uzbekistan for Referendum Monitoring

The IPA CIS International Observers will monitor the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of Uzbekistan. Sergei Rachkov, Chair of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for Foreign Affairs and National Security, has been appointed a coordinator of the group.

45 members of the group are accredited by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including MPs of the Commonwealth countries. The group also includes the IPA CIS officials headed by Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy and experts from the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy of the IPA CIS.

On 30 April 2023, observers will conduct monitoring at polling stations in Tashkent and the regions of the republic, as well as at foreign polling stations.
