IPA CIS International Observers Visited House-Museum of Chingiz Aitmatov in Bishkek

International observers from the IPA CIS and the CSTO PA, monitoring the parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic, visited the house-museum of Chingiz Aitmatov.

Eldar Aitmatov, the son of the famous writer, conducted a museum tour for the representatives of the CIS parliaments and the IPA CIS Council Secretariat.

The IPA CIS has organized exhibitions and readings dedicated to Chingiz Aitmatov and his works for many years. In 2013, following the proposal of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the IPA CIS established the Chingiz Aitmatov Prize, which is annually awarded to prominent figures of culture and art from across the Commonwealth.
