Parliamentary Elections in Kyrgyzstan: IPA CIS Observers Monitored Opening of Polling Stations

The IPA CIS Observer Team monitored the opening of several polling stations at the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, Chairman of the Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Mukhtar Yerman and IPA CIS Council Secretary General Dmitriy Kobitskiy observed the opening of the polling stations in humanitarian gymnasium No. 4 in the capital of the Republic. They examined the ballot boxes, interviewed the members of the election commission, observers and voters.

The polling stations opened at 8 a.m.

During the election day, the MPs from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the IPA CIS Council representatives, including the experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) carried out monitoring of the elections in Bishkek and at the foreign polling stations in Baku, Minsk, Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The monitoring is aimed at collecting as much information as possible in order to prepare an objective conclusion on the results of the monitoring.
