IPA CIS Observers Attended Opening of Polling Stations at Elections of President of Republic of Uzbekistan

IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, First Deputy Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadali Vatanzoda and IPA CIS Council Secretary General Dmitriy Kobitskiy began monitoring at the polling station No. 108 in the building of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute.

The observers also visited polling stations No. 110, 105 and others, where they interviewed the members of election commissions, national observers and citizens who came to vote.

The observers pay attention to the availability and completeness of information materials, ensuring the secrecy of voting and free expression of the will of voters.

The Observer Team members also assessed the measures to protect participants of the electoral process against COVID-19 at the polling stations.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy drew attention to the conditions created for citizens with disabilities: at polling stations, there are information materials created using a Braille cipher for the visually impaired and sign language translation on screens for those who have hard of hearing.

During the day,  the Observer Team members continue to work in various regions of the Republic.

The observation is also conducted at foreign polling stations in Baku (Azerbaijan Republic), Yerevan (Republic of Armenia), Minsk (Republic of Belarus), Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan), Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic), Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation), Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan), Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium), London (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), Rome (Italian Republic), Beijing (People's Republic of China), Riga (Republic of Latvia), Ankara (Republic of Turkey), Berlin, Frankfurt am Main (Federal Republic of Germany) and Paris (French Republic).
