IPA CIS Observers Monitor Elections in Serbia

The IPA CIS international observers at the presidential and parliamentary elections in the Republic of Serbia met with candidates to the MPs – Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Russia, Head of the Serbian Parliamentary Committee on Kosovo and Metohija, member of the Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on Defense and Internal Affairs of the twelfth convocation Milovan Drecun and Chairman of the Republic Electoral Commission of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Dimitrijevic.

During the meetings, the observers informed the candidates about the Team composition, the operational principles and the work plans for monitoring on the election day.

Speaker of the Parliament Ivica Dacic informed the observers about the norms of national legislation applied for the first time during the current campaign. Milovan Drecun assessed the measures taken by the Republic Electoral Commission and state authorities to organize the voting of citizens of the Republic of Serbia living on the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija. Chairman of the Republic Electoral Commission of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Dimitrijevic told the observers about the preparations for the elections.
