IPA CIS Observers Held Meetings with Political Parties of Republic of Armenia

Today, within the framework of the short-term monitoring of the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Armenia, IPA CIS international observers, headed by Team coordinator, Chair of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Industry, Fuel-Energy Complex, Transport and Communication Igor Komarovsky, held a number of meetings with political parties that had nominated their candidates.

The observers informed the representatives of the parties about the results of the long-term monitoring of the electoral campaign carried out by the staff of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), and spoke about the work program of the observers for the coming days, the meetings held and planned, and the observers’ schedules on the election day.

In general, the IPA CIS observers met with six political parties and election blocs: Prosperous Armenia Party, Civil Contract party, Bright Armenia party, “Armenia” party bloc, “I Have the Honor” bloc, “Our Home is Armenia” party.

During the meetings, the representatives of political parties highly appreciated the professional work of the election administration authorities. In their opinion, the campaign is generally competitive and is not accompanied by major conflicts or scandals. Representatives of political parties and election blocs also agreed that they were given enough opportunities to inform the voters of the Republic of Armenia with the main provisions of their election programs.
