IPA CIS Observers Held a Meeting With Leadership of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan

Today, the IPA CIS observers headed by Team Coordinator, First Deputy Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadali Vatanzoda discussed the presidential elections with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farhod Arziev in Tashkent.

The parties touched upon different aspects of the voting preparation, mainly the organization of international monitoring at polling stations, as well as ensuring the exercise of the right to vote for the citizens of Uzbekistan who were abroad.

Farhod Arziev noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan had sent invitations to participate in the elections monitoring to 21 international organizations, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan expected that over 700 representatives of international organizations, states, as well as foreign politicians and experts would take part in the monitoring.

The IPA CIS observers informed the Minister about the principles of the monitoring and the working program on the election day on 24 October 2021.
