Inauguration of the President of the Republic of Belarus

On 25 March, Alexander Lukashenko was inaugurated as President of the Republic of Belarus in the Palace of Independence in Minsk. He took the oath and took the presidential office.

The presidential elections in Belarus were held on 26 January 2025. Alexander Lukashenko won with 86.82% (5,136,293) of the vote.

The election campaign was monitored by international observers from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The group was headed by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev. The observers from the Assembly visited 321 polling stations.

The observers concluded that the elections were held in compliance with the rights and freedoms of all participants in the electoral process, in accordance with the norms of national legislation and international obligations of the Republic of Belarus in the electoral sphere.
