Oleg Melnichenko to Head IPA CIS International Observers at Presidential Elections in Republic of Tajikistan

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko appointed Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Government and Northern Affairs Oleg Melnichenko was appointed the IPA CIS Observer Team Coordinator, which is to monitor the presidential elections in Tajikistan.
The IPA CIS Observer Team includes representatives of the parliaments of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The work program of the IPA CIS observers features meetings with representatives of the candidates’ campaign headquarters, as well as with the leadership of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums, the upper and lower chambers of parliament.
