Uzbekistan Launches Early Voting for Parliamentary Election

Early voting for the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan has started on 16 October.

According to the country's legislation, voters who cannot be at their place of residence on the election day have the right to vote early.

According to the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, polling stations for early voting will work from 9.00 to 18.00 on weekdays and from 11.00 to 17.00 on weekends. The process will continue until 23 October.

The election to the Legislative Chamber will be held on 27 October 2024. The electoral campaign will be monitored by the IPA CIS International Observers group.

The group includes more than 60 observers from the Assembly. Among them are representatives of the parliaments of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, staff members of the Assembly and experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD).

Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy Taalaibek Masabirov was appointed as the coordinator of the group.
