Belarus has elected its President

The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus announced the result of the presidential election in Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko has been elected the President of the Republic of Belarus. He won 5,102,478 votes or 83.5%, which is the overwhelming majority of voters.

By the invitation of the Republic of Belarus, the team of international observers of the IPA CIS also monitored the election.
