Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova (CECRM) announced results of the presidential elections

The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova adopted a statement acknowledging validity of the recent presidential election of 30 October. The statement of the CIS Observer Mission which embraced the IPA CIS Observer Team was published in the web-site of the CIS Execom.

The IPA CIS Observer Team also published its findings on the results of the elections monitoring.

The IPA CIS Observer Team included 34 MPs and representatives of legislative bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan, as well as IPA CIS Council Secretariat press-officers and IIMDD IPA CIS experts.

As none of the candidates for presidency won more than 50% of votes, the CEC will call a runoff election on 13November. The CIS Observer Mission led by IPA CIS Council Secretary General Alexey Sergeev and its affiliated IPA CIS Observer Team will continue their work in the Republic of Moldova.
