IIMDD IPA CIS Chisinau branch monitored the elections to the People's Assembly of Gagauzia Autonomous District of the Republic of Moldova

On 20 November 2016, the observers visited 10 out of the 66 polling stations in Gagauzia. All the stations began their work on time, no violations of the electoral legislation has been registered.

In addition, the observers held a meeting with Ivan Komura, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Gagauzia. He informed the representatives of the progress in the preparation of the elections and the voting process itself. In turn, Eugeniu Stirbu, Director of the IIMDD IPA CIS Chisinau branch, noted the good organization of the voting process and thanked Ivan Komura for giving the observers the opportunity to fully monitor the electoral process.
