Representatives of the Chisinau office of the IIMDD IPA CIS held the monitoring of the runoff election to the People's Assembly of ATU Gagauzia, Republic of Moldova

On 4 December 2016 the IPA CIS observers from among the employees of the Chisinau office of the IIMDD IPA CIS monitored the runoff election to the People's Assembly of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Republic of Moldova.

On the Election Day, they visited 11 of 42 polling stations in Gagauzia. The stations were opened on time and the IPA CIS observers identified no serious violations during the voting process.

During the runoff the citizens of Gagauzia elected 15 members of the People's Assembly. In total the parliament of the region consists of 35 members elected for a four-year term through a majority in single-member constituencies on the basis of a universal, equal and direct suffrage with secret and free voting.

The first round of elections took place on 20 November 2016.
