International observers met with representatives of the candidate from Eni Azerbaijan party

Today, the international observers met with the representatives of the campaign office of the incumbent president Ilkham Aliev. The observer team included CIS parliamentarians from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and an IPA CIS IIMDD expert. 

Deputy Chairman of the party and its Deputy Executive Secretary briefed the observers on the status of preparation to the presidential elections.

They highly valued the work of CEC of Azerbaijan and the balanced representation of opposition and government supporters in election authorities. They also noted the spirit of competition during candidates’ debates on TV and radio, as well as weak organization of opposition and its inability to come together and provide a pre-election platform that would attract voters.
