IPA CIS international observers are coming to Baku

By the invitation of Milli Majlis, the team of IPA CIS international observers is to provide long- and short-term monitoring of the election.

Leonid Slutsky, the chairperson of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Commonwealth Affairs and Outreach to Compatriotic Communities Abroad, is assigned the coordinator of the team.

The team is composed of deputies representing supreme regulatory bodies of the six CIS nations (the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan), the IPA SIA Council Secretariat, and the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process.

The IPA CIS observers are working as a part of the Observation Mission of the CIS headed by Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the CIS Sergey Lebedev. The mission is composed of 147observers.
