IPA CIS international observers held a meeting at the national CEC of Azerbaijan

Leonid Sloutskiy briefed the meeting about the progress of long-term monitoring of presidential elections in Azerbaijan. He noted continued improvement in the electoral system. He also stressed the role of IPA CIS and the mechanism of mutual election monitoring as an instrument of democracy, trust and transparency across the CIS. The Chairman of the CEC received preliminary findings of the mission based on evidence collected on the ground.

In turn, Mazahir Panahov thanked the Team for positive assessment of the CEC’s work and noted the professionalism invested into the drafting of the findings. He forther briefed the Team on the forthcoming activities of the CEC. Finally, the meeting discussed future cooperation.
