IPA CIS observers began short-term monitoring in Belarus

The IPA CIS international observers are arriving in Belarus to perform short-term monitoring of the election of members of the sixth House of Representatives of the National Assembly.

In accordance with the decree of the IPA CIS Chairperson, Vice Speaker of Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko was appointed Coordinator of the Observer Team.

The team consists of over 40 international observers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, and Tajikistan including MPs, representatives of supreme legislative authorities, staff members of IPA CIS Secretariat and IIMDD experts.

The team is expected to meet leadership of the Parliament of the Republic of Belarus and the CEC, as well as members of observer missions of other international organizations.

On the E-Day 11 September, the Team will monitor election in Minsk, some regions of Belarus and at polling stations beyond the country – in Baku, Yerevan, Chisinau, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
