IPA CIS observers begin their short-term monitoring mission in Moldova

IPA CIS observers begin their short-term mission to observer set-up and hosting of the presidential election in the Republic of Moldova

IPA CIS international observers are arriving in Chisinau.

As per the decree of IPA CIS Council Chairperson Valentina Matvienko, Vice Speaker of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Akramsho Felaliev was appointed Coordinator of the IPA CIS Observer Team.

The team includes 34 observers represented by MPs, staff members of the IPA CIS Secretariat and IIMDP experts.

The IPA CIS Observer Team works within the CIS Observer Mission led by IPA CIS SG Alexey Sergeev.

The short-term monitoring effort is expected to feature leaders of the CEC of Moldova as well as presidential candidates and members of the observer teams delegated by international organizations (PA CE, OSCE PA, ODIHR).

On the E-day 30 October, the IPA CIS observers will monitor the electoral process at polling stations in Chisinau, Beltsy, the autonomous district of Gagauziya and polling stations beyond the country – in Baku, Minsk, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
