IPA CIS observers exchanged opinions with their European colleagues

As part of short-term monitoring of the presidential election in the Republic of Belarus, coordinator of the IPA CIS observers Yuriy Vorobyov, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Councils Alexey Sergeev, and director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process Andrey Baranov held several meetings with monitoring missions of other international organizations.

During the meeting with Jacques Faure, the Head of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in OSCE, the observers shared their impressions on the long-term monitoring and discussed the methodology of the monitoring. The parties confirmed the necessity to unify the approaches of the IPA CIS and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in OSCE.

Kent Harsted, the Head of the Mission of short-term observation of the OSCE, the Deputy Speaker of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly held the meeting with the head of the IPA CIS team, told about the work of the OSCE parliamentarians in Belarus and shared his opinion on the election preparation.

Another meeting was held with Head of the Mission of PACE Rea Denemich.
