IPA CIS observers held a kick-off meeting in Baku

A kick-off meeting of IPA CIS observers took place in the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.  Opening the meeting, Dmitriy Azarov, Chairman of the Committee on Federal Affairs, Regional Policy, Local Government and Arctic Territories, noted that key goal of the IPA CIS mission was to monitor the compliance of the referendum to the national legislation and ensure free expression of will by citizens.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS IIMDD Dmitry Gladey told the participants of the meeting about the procedures the IPA CIS international observers follow being on a short-term monitoring mission and the routes taken by the observation groups on the E-Day.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS IIMDD Field Offices Support Unit Roman Amburtsev informed the observers about the report prepared by the IPA CIS IIMDD expert group.
