IPA CIS observers met the head of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic

The team of the IPA CIS international observers held a meeting with the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Chairperson of the Commission Tuygunaaly Abdraimov told the observers about the novelties in the electoral system of the Kyrgyz Republic, including biometric identification and automatic scanning ballot boxes. He emphasized that these novelties were targeted at building citizens’ trust to electoral procedures.

After the meeting, coordinator of the IPA CIS team of observers Vladimir Vityuk and Secretary General of the IPA CIS Counsil Alexey Sergeev answered journalists’ questions.
