IPA CIS observers set their schedule for the E-day

IPA CIS observation Team Leader Leonid Slutskiy chaired the meeting. He noted that the team of observers had an optimal composition, being represented by effective MPs from seven CIS parliaments. He said main objective of the observer team was to monitor the electoral process.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev explained the composition of the Team in more detail. The Team included MPs from seven CIS Member Nations, staff of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat and experts from IIMDD.

IIMDD Director Dmitriy Gladey noted that the purpose of long term monitoring was to review practical electoral law enforcement at all levels of the electoral framework and to look into the practicalities of their operations.
