IPA CIS observers will take part in short-term monitoring of the constitutional referendum in the Republic of Tajikistan

The team will monitor the referendum in Dushanbe and in residential communities of the Khatlonskaya oblast.

The team consists of 33 international observers from 7 countries, IPA CIS members (the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation). It includes MPs, representatives of supreme legislative bodies, representatives of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage Protection of the Citizens of the IPA CIS Member Nations (IIMDD IPA CIS). Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hermine Nagdalyan has been assigned to coordinate the IPA CIS Observer Team.

The team is expected to meet with the following officials: Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zukhurov, Chairperson of the Commission on Elections and Referendums of the Republic of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda, senior staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The referendum will also be monitored at ballot stations abroad in Baku, Minsk, Bishkek and Moscow.

The group of the IPA CIS International Observers is formed on the invitation of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
