Members of the IPA CIS observers team laid flowers on the grave of Chingiz Aitmatov

Eduard Sharmazanov, Coordinator of the IPA CIS international observer team, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and the members of the IPA CIS observers team including Haik Chilingarian, plenipotentiary representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia at the IPA CIS, Nurbek Satvaldiev, plenipotentiary representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic at the IPA CIS, Dmitriy Gladey, Director of International Institute for the Monitoring of Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IIMDD IPA CIS), Sergey Karavaev, IIMDD IPA CIS Deputy Director, and representative of the IIMDD IPA CIS Bishkek branch visited the “Ata Beyit” memorial complex in Bishkek, where they laid flowers on the grave of Chingiz Aitmatov and left notes in the book of remembrance.

The delegation also visited the house museum of Chingiz Aitmatov, situated 8 kilometers away from the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The IPA CIS observers team includes 24 members and is composed of the representatives of the supreme legislative bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the IPA CIS Council Secretariat and IIMD IPA CIS experts.

During the short-term monitoring the observers will meet with leaders of Jogorku Kenesh, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as with representatives of agitation groups.
