Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov met with the team of IPA CIS international observers

Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Chynybai Tursunbekov met with the team of IPA CIS international observers, who had arrived in Kyrgyzstan to monitor the referendum to amend its Constitution.

The meeting brought together the coordinator of the team of the IPA CIS international observers, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Majlisi Namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on Energy, Industry, Construction and Communication Hisrav Abdunazar, Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia at the IPA CIS Haik Chilingaryan, Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic at the IPA CIS Nurbek Satvaldiev, Director of the International Institute of Monitoring Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations Dmitriy Gladey, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on International Affairs, Defense and Security Abdyvahap Nurbayev..

Chynybai Tursunbekov highlighted the importance of the IPA CIS monitoring activities. “Kyrgyzstan has taken all necessary measures to ensure a high level of public order and to conduct fair and transparent voting and expression of free will of citizens during the referendum. I think that we have created all the conditions for the monitoring both on international and local levels and that the elections were in line with international standards”, — he said.

Edward Sharmazanov congratulated citizens and the Republic's leaders on the success of the referendum. “We believe that the electoral process, which our team has witnessed, is democratic, and it has proved again that people is the sole architect of its own future”, — he said.

Eduard Sharmazanov added that the use of new technologies at the recent elections minimizes the human factor in electoral process and is a positive example for other CIS countries. Chynybai Tursunbekov thanked the IPA CIS observers for their activities and objective, fair findings based on the results of monitoring.
