Tajikistan to elect president on 6 November

30 senators and 63 MEPs unanimously voted to set the election date for 6 November, which is the Constitution day, an official holiday and a national day-off. 68 district elecoms and over 20 voting wards outside Tajikistan will operate during the election.

According to Tajikistani law, to qualify for Head of State rank the candidate must be aged at least 35, speak the official language of the country, has been living in Tajikistan for not less than 10 years to this date and having a suffrage right. The candidate shall be registered by the Central Election Commission after collection of signatures of not less than 5 per cent of total voters.
