IPA CIS Develops Model Law on Digital Health Care

On 14 July, a meeting of the working group on the integration of national e-health systems of the CIS Executive Committee was held.

Head of the IPA CIS working group on the development of the Draft Model Law on Digital Health Care, Director of the Institute of Digital Medicine of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Georgy Lebedev told the meeting participants about the progress of the work on the document.

He emphasized that the main idea of ​​the bill was to create qualitatively new, modern standards of interaction between subjects of health care systems of the CIS Member Nations, both at national and international levels.

The draft law establishes the legal framework for the common space in the healthcare sector, which will unify the rules and processes of information exchange and ensure the breakthrough development of artificial intelligence technologies.

The draft law will also help to strengthen the system of collective security and emergency response, including through the standardization and seamless integration of information systems, the availability of real-time data analytics and operational management, the availability of resources and mechanisms for the reallocation of resources.

The working group of the CIS Executive Committee decided to support the development of the draft and recommended to include in the international working group the representatives of the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC).
