First Meeting of IPA CIS Board of Experts on Science and Education Took Place in Tavricheskiy Palace

On 11 June 2021, the first meeting of the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Science and Education took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy opened the event. In his welcoming speech, Dmitriy Kobitskiy noted that the establishment of that advisory body continued the IPA CIS efforts to develop of expert platforms in all important fields of the organization’s activity.

Chair of the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Science and Education Experts Andrey Rudskoy in his report described the main tasks of the Board of Experts, which included the definition of current areas of normative legal regulation, assistance to the IPA CIS in expert and analytical support for the preparation, development and implementation of the long-term plans of model law-making of the CIS, etc. Andrey Rudskoy also drew the attention to the representativeness of the experts included in the Board.

Deputy Chair of the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Science and Education Jamila Nurmanbetova, elected at the event, spoke about the main directions of the legislative work in the field of science and education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Minister of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Lilia Pogolsha noted that science should play a greater role in the development of society in the face of modern challenges. She also expressed confidence that the Board of Experts would help coordinate the efforts of specialists from different countries in achieving common goals.

Member of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Education and Science, Doctor of Historical Sciences Alexei Zagrebin informed the meeting participants on the activities of the State Duma Expert Committee on International Cooperation in Education and Science.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Alexandr Suryghin presented the meeting participants the information on the IPA CIS laws and regulations in the field of science and education. In total, the Assembly developed and adopted over 600 documents, more than 80 of which were in the field of science and education. He also recalled that the development of the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2023-2025 would take place in 2022, and the IPA CIS Board of Experts on Science and Education could make a great contribution in its formation.
