New IPA CIS Model Law Outlines Role of State in Elimination of Accumulated Environmental Damage

The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly adopted at its 51st plenary session on 27 November 2020 the Model Law on Elimination of Accumulated Environmental Damage featuring the modern approaches to the regulation of legal relations in this field.

The law outlines that the organization, coordination and implementation of the state policy on elimination of accumulated environmental damage are within the powers and obligations of the authorized bodies of public authorities.

The Model Law was drafted by the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology in accordance with the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2020-2022.
