International cooperation was discussed at the IPA CIS HQ

The regular meeting of the IPA CIS PC on Political Issues and International Cooperation took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace.
The meeting elected the following deputy PC chairs: Member of the Committee of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Rufat Guliyev, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Foreign Relations Karen Bekaryan, Deputy Chair of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on International Affairs Ivan Korzh, Member of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic on Budget and Finance Ruslan Kazakbayev and Chairman of the Committee of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on International Relations, Information and Public Association Olim Salimzoda.
The meeting heard the results of the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which took place in St. Petersburg on 14-18 October 2017. The meeting also focused on the Syrian peace process and the political consequences of the European migrant crisis for the CIS region.
Members of the commission analyzed the results of the participation of the IPA CIS observers in the monitoring of the elections of the President of the Kyrghyz Republic. In addition, they discussed the participation of the delegations of the IPA CIS parliaments in the 26th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
The participants of the meeting were also briefed on the results of the Conference dedicated to the International Day of Democracy. The meeting also considered the issue of joint initiatives with international partner organizations.
