IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education Meets in Tavricheskiy Palace

The meeting of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Science and Education took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS headquarters.

The event brought together the MPs from the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as experts and the academia.

Chair of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova was unanimously elected Chair of the Commission. Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Vardevan Grigoryan and Chair of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Culture and Science Igor Marzalyuk were elected Deputy Chairs of the Commission.

The participants discussed the draft Model Law on Contracting in Research and Development Sphere, which defines the organizational, legal and economic basis of the contracting in research and development sphere financed by the state.

The members of the Commission agreed on the draft Model Law and decided to request the IPA CIS Council to include it into the plenary session agenda.

The meeting also considered the draft Aligned Glossary of Education Terms. The request to include it into the IPA CIS plenary session agenda will be also submitted to the Council.

The members of the Commission drew the outcomes of the implementation of the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2016-2020 and amendments to the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2020-2022.

The Commission was also informed on the implementation of the model laws adopted by the IPA CIS on the initiative of the Commission in the parliaments.
